I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba in 2003, where I graduated with the highest academic standing and was awarded the gold medal in engineering and the Governor General's Academic MedalBrendan Frey invited me into his Probabilistic and Statistical Inference (PSI) research group at the University of Toronto for my graduate studies in Computer Engineering and I worked on projects in both computer vision and computational molecular biology during my doctoral program. I am currently working on my own startup company, Shape Collage / Loupe.

Research Interests

My research primarily involves the use of probabilistic graphical models to engineer solutions to problems in both computer vision and computational biology.   A little side project of mine has been the development of a distributed computing system for executing machine learning algorithms.
